Our studies on drug-resistant urinary tract infections in dogs and cats were cited in the ScienceNews Magazine.

Drs. Cátia Marques and Adriana Belas from the Laboratory of Antibiotic Resistance (FMV-UL) presented this study at the joint meeting of the American Society for Microbiology 2016 and the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy.

Dr Siân-Marie Frosini, researcher from the UK team, has been recognised by the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) as part of their '30 under 30' initiative.

Training

Frebruary, 2018

A week of a joint training period of the research fellow from UK at the Portuguese laboratory was conducted to exchange expertise according to the PET-Risk standard operating procedures (SOP).

Worms & Germs Blog is an educational website coordinated by Drs. Scott Weese (Head of the PETrisk consortium Canadian team) and Maureen Anderson of the Ontario Veterinary College‘s Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses.

The site focuses on infectious diseases of companion animals (household pets and horses), with an emphasis on zoonotic diseases – diseases that can be transmitted from animals to people.
